It has its own Department of Communication Studies that offers a degree program in communication studies, but students can also study communication studies and disorders or agricultural communications, which has a journalism emphasis. Each program provides extra opportunities for students through study abroad programs and internships. Communication Studies

Communication Studies and Theatre Arts
Kansas Wesleyan University constantly looks for ways to improve its programs and to meet the needs of its students. Its communications program changed significantly as the ways in which people worked together changed. Students can now take classes on social media communications methods that focus on the ways in which people interact over the internet. McPhearson College
Communication
McPhearson College is home to a branch of Lambda Pi Eta, which is an honors society for communications majors. Students who maintain a high grade point average receive an invitation to join. Those students can then attend regular meetings and special events that are not open to other students. They can use those events to find out about paid internships and to get help looking for jobs before they graduate. Many students major in communications but take classes on digital media to learn more about working online. Students will do a practicum that includes some fieldwork before graduating too.
Communication Major
The communication major at McPhearson College requires that students take 19 courses that are worth 52 credits in addition to taking electives and some general education classes.
